I've been going to this dentist office for years, but this last experience left something to be desired. It stared out great. The staff was friendly and accommodating of my needs- I have an injury and needed special accommodations. But during my cleaning I was told that I needed an antibacterial treatment. I trust my dental office so I figured it was something I needed, though I did ask how much it would cost. I was given a price and I agreed to the treatment based on this information. Then after the treatment I confirmed the price and this time was told it was 3x the original number I was given. When I expressed concern over not being able to pay for this treatment now that I knew the rate was 3x the original amount I was told, I was simply told I should put it on a credit card rather than given any alternative payment method or even given an apology for what seemed like an intentional miscommunication. I honestly feel as if I might have been purposefully misled to get a treatment that now I am not sure I even needed in the first place.
Great service starting from the front desk to the doctor. Very knowledgeable and caring doctors.
I’m glad I’ve been referred to the Union Square Dental. Will be using the service for all my dental needs.
As good an experience at a dentist as it can get. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating, the dental hygienist Carrie was very good, and Dr. Grytsenko was great. She has great bedside manner and kept making sure I was okay during my fillings. Highly recommend.
I would never recommend anyone to Union Square Dental. When I called to make and confirm my appointment they explained to me the initial appointment would consist of a consultation and a cleaning. Once I got there the front desk staff took forever to even acknowledge that I was standing in front of them, then told me to take a seat, after the other patient who was waiting had been gone for several minutes I went back to the desk and asked for the second time to check in.
Once I was in the room the dental hygienist was very short and down right rude. She told me she did not have time to do my cleaning and could only spend 10 minutes working on me before she needed to go, but that I could come back for a deep cleaning (of course at an additional cost). Her work was very sloppy, rushed and painful. I explained it hurt very much and she said "it only hurts because you don't have a high tolerance for pain."
After being rushed out of the chair I was told to make two more appointments to have a cleaning (which again I was originally told was included ) and to take care of other dental work which was never fully explained to me.
Needless to say I have changed dentists and had to wait months for another appointment somewhere else which is scheduled for later this month. But from my horrible experience with Union Square Dental I would rather wait for a better doctor and practice overall than ever return here.
The whole process was rushed. The technician Yelena was brusque, the dentist wouldn't have even looked in my mouth if I hadn't brought up an issue, and I think the densist may have separated my permanent retainer from my tooth while she was pulling at it (it was already loose, but I don't think it was completely detached, and she was yanking pretty hard on it). I suppose the cleaning was adequate if that's all you need, but I wouldn't recommend them for any real work.
The front desk was helpful, though, and I appreciated that they gave me a price estimate of the work I need done before scheduling the visit.
