I had an annual eye exam scheduled for last week. I was looking forward to getting the exam because I was on my last pair of contact lenses and needed a new supply. The day before the appointment I got an automated call to confirm the time. Unfortunately, it was not the correct time I had scedhuled it for. No big deal right? Well, I called the next morning to reschedule the appointment. The woman on the phone said I could not get a new appointment for about a month and a half out. What?? I said I have only a few days left of my last pair of contacts. I asked if they could get me an extra pair or two in the meantime to cover me. She said no.. my prescription was old and needed a new exam first. She said I should just try wearing my glasses if I had them. I said I had glasses but they are old, scratched and don't fit correctly. (I haven't worn them in a long time). She said there was nothing she could do. Ok..... let me get this straight. I will not have any contact lenses in a few days. I told her I will not be able to see for a 6 weeks and is unacceptable. She said there was nothing they could do? This seems crazy.... I will not be able to drive or work. Is this how they treat their patients? There is no contingency policy? What if I just wore glasses. Suppose I lost them and was due for an annual exam? I guess they just say sorry... you'll be blind as a bat for 6 weeks until we can get you in? Extremely poor customer service... zero care about the patient. I wound be going back. Thankfully, I was able to get into another doctors office in two days. I am happy with my new contact lenses and new glasses...and new doctor
