What used to be a humble, community like airport is now a capitalist, money grab of a spot. Prices have shot up exponentially for all food and beverage products, which is probably related to a hike in rent for shops due to the changeover of management. It used to be my favourite airport, but cannot stand the capitalist mentality that has poisoned it.
Modern, clean, and functions very well. If you're lucky before landing and the wind blows from the right direction, the pilot will have to do do a 'go around' and give you a breathtaking view of the island
Mixed impressions at my visit this time around. Taking a little too long to be served at the cafe. Food is fairly expensive but you do expect that anywhere, however if it needs to be expensive then a better quality product would serve as an advantage. The chicken and vegetable pie I had was bland and would expect the same quality from a street trader serving food. As most airports really they need to pick up the standards to meet the prices.
Nice little airport with friendly service. Compared to the size af Malta, it has a fine standard and offers. Be aware of the other levels than ground floor. Level -1 got food court 😀 and level 3 Observation Deck 😎
