The ANZAC memorial is on one end and the St Mary's Cathedral on the other..in between lies the Hyde Park. Also the museum is nearby. The Park is clean and well manicured. You have places to sit around. You can catch a glimpse of the Sydney eye tower from here .
Generally speaking it's a nice park if you go in and only focus on the park, if you look around though and take everything in you'll notice some of its bad sides.
Currently under construction at the war memorial end. There is constant foot traffic of homeless and junkies that utilise the park. Major lack of public toilets, relying on one or 2 timed automatic toilets dotted at each end of the park.
Other than all that though you have some great old fig trees and the occasional event hosted here.
I have had many great photo opportunities here. I enjoy this beautiful place right in the middle of the city. You can never tell what you will find, one of the last times I was here met a friendly local brush tail possum.
Nice city park with the smell of China Town near by. Take a train from near by Martin Place to Town Hall and have a relaxing scroll towards Darling Harbour. Hyde Park is an ideal place to show of some of your magic tricks to walkers/joggers.
We enjoyed a lot there. Its not different from any other park but it's opposite to Church. So many newly married couples were busy in photo session. There was some German festival organized so lot many young boys and girls were passing through. It's was so colorful evening. If I say Australia was there for the event
