Waited over an hour-and-a-half with my daughter to see the dentist for a check-up post wisdom teeth removal. Arrived at 8:55 a.m. for a 9:00 a.m. appointment. At 9:45 a.m. I asked the front desk how much longer we needed to wait. The woman at the front desk said, "Oh, it will be just a few more minutes. Have a seat and we'll call you." At 10:10 a.m., I asked the front desk again how long the wait will be, and this time someone from the back office said "they" were cleaning the room, that it would just be a "few minutes." At 10:35 a.m., we were finally asked to come in to the back office to see the dentist who was in to check up on the stitches for less than 3 minutes. Good grief! If you are a busy person, avoid coming to this dental office. You may be the next person to endure waiting nearly two hours and being lied to about when you'll actually go inside to see the dentist.
Very impressed! I was quite nervous to have a wisdom tooth extracted last week, but I felt more a ease after Dr. Abraham explained what was about to happen and gave me the info I needed. Dr. Abraham must be very skilled because the procedure was surprisingly quick. He and his staff were very attentive and friendly, and overall I am very happy with my entire experience at Hawaii Family Dental.
Joe is an amazing hygienist - request him.
It was very difficult to make an appointment. I had to cancel because of a family funeral and was told I had to wait a full year to get in. A few months later I received an email from the office, announcing a new dentist on their team, located downtown. I immediately called for an appointment and was told the deal wasn't closed with the new dentist, so I couldn't make that appointment - no more info given.
I had to wait an entire year to get my teeth cleaned.
During my visit I was told twice to sign an electronic pad with no explanation of what I was signing until I asked. The dentist didn't introduce herself or even identify herself as the dentist. She was sitting behind my exam chair, so I couldn't comfortably look at her and I had to ask who she was. I felt like a piece of paper shuffled from one desk to another.
The cleaning I had to have was longer and more expensive than usual... perhaps because I had to wait an entire year (I would have gone elsewhere, but this is the only place covered by my insurance).
The good news is that the hygienist, Joe, introduced himself, gave me thorough information, answered all of my questions and was pleasant and conscious of my comfort throughout the procedure.
I've been going here for 3 years and this is how it has always been, except for the very pleasant addition of Joe. There are a lot of nice people employed here, but the system itself doesn't work. It feels like a dental factory instead of a place to get dental care.
I have been seeing Dr. Bono for 4 years now. She is gentle, kind and thorough. I have seen two hygienist so far, and I'm sorry I forgot both of their names, but both were great! They were professional, nice and makes dental cleaning comfortable.
I am happy to share that I got my Invisalign treatment started with Dr. Chaekal. She took the time to listen to what I was concerned about and explained the various options I had. She made sure that I was confident in my decision. The staff there are also great! Cat and Charmaine took great care of me. OH they have a digital scanner too - it was quick and very comfortable. No yucky goop!!
