KINGDOM SERVICE : A mature disciple of Jesus Christ is bringing salvation and healing to others through both word and deed. They see the events of their life from Jesus point of view and they speak words of creative truth into desperate need. They also expect to be used by God to alleviate desperate need. They want to see the kingdom of God established in their physical world as it is in heaven. They believe God will take what they have and multiply it until it is more than enough. They live everyday with Isaiah 58 in view.
KINGDOM CHARACTER : A mature disciple of Jesus Christ is in the process of becoming more like Jesus Christ in how they think, how they speak, and how they act. This happens as they grow in their knowledge of Jesus and as they begin to see Him as He actually is—beholding Him they will become like Him. One way they can give themselves to growing in their knowledge of Jesus is by focusing on an aspect of His character and seeking to make it their own.
KINGDOM RELATIONSHIP : A mature disciple of Jesus Christ is rooted in both a growing relationship with God and a growing relationship with a few others. A person relating well with God will see their own sin as well as their God-given destiny more clearly. When this happens, they need the perspective of a few others on the same journey with God to help them stay grounded in humility and courage.
SUMMARY : A mature disciple of Jesus Christ lives to see the kingdom of God established in every part of their experienced world (and beyond). They live in this world as ambassadors of reconciliation. This world really is not their home. They live in the tension of wanting to be “home” with Jesus while at the same time wanting “home” to come to them and their part of the world… one heart at a time. The culture of God’s kingdom is meant to permeate every aspect of life: their relationships, their character, their actions, their desires, their dreams, their finances, everything. They are expected AND they expect to do even greater things than those done by Jesus himself; impossible unless the kingdom of God is established on earth as it is in heaven.
